Although based on Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Little Match Girl', Circus, which can best be described as a contemporary fairy tale in moving images pregnant with deep insight and highly refined sense of beauty, actually follows its own unique course. Commissioned by Snow Peak, and photographed by Atsushi Okuyama, this 2016 body of work was created during Snow Peak Way events of that year as a thank you gift to Snow Peak Shareholders in Japan. Bringing scenes of humanity, livestock, and togetherness to life through images composed and presented in traditional formats akin to the subjects they contain.
